SUBJECT: Beatmap Question 2: Long WAV beatmaps with UNEVEN tempos
KEYWORDS:

I expect to be doing a lot of this:

Drop an existing 2-minute-long .WAV music file into an empty, new Acid 7 project.
Then embellish it with other sounds on additional, new audio and midi tracks.

Some of these dropped-in .WAV files are surprisingly uneven in terms of tempo.

The Beatmapper Wizard assists in choosing a single, uniform, consistant BPM tempo, but inspecting the file afterward in the Clip Properties  > Stretch tab reveals that in some cases, a tempo adjustment is needed every couple of measures(!).

I've been double-clicking the orange measure markers and setting a new tempo from that point forward.  BUT a) it's very time consuming, and b) I'm not sure yet what the real result of doing this is.

a) Is there a better, quicker way to accurately map the beats in a relatively long beatmap file that varies in its tempo, measure to measure?

b) Assuming I do isolate and remap every measure individually, what will the Acid PROJECT do with that?  In other words, once I remap so every Beatmap measure marker falls on a wave file downbeat, will the PROJECT then lock the WAV file's music to the project's unchanging BPM tempo, so whatever natural "looseness" was present in the original recording gets "stomped out of it"?

Thanks
